In a small workshop in Japan, Hiroyuki Kato runs “Senui”, a one-person brand dedicated to handmade shirts and shirt jackets. The name comes from a traditional kimono technique where fabric is stitched together at the center back, creating a clean, elegant line.

With years of experience in shirt-making, Kato launched Senui in 2022, handling everything from design to sewing himself. He is inspired by vintage Japanese, American, and European shirts and crafts each piece with a single back seam for a refined fit and natural drape. Senui isn’t just about making clothes; it’s about keeping tradition alive in a modern way.
